Sunrise on Tonto Trail. The painting was inspired by a photo taken by my son, David Percival, on the final day of a 4 day patrol. He is a back country ranger at Grand Canyon National Park.

Title or Location: Scurdie Ness Lighthouse
I took this photo of Scurdie ness lighthouse in Montrose and loved the contrast of shadow and sunlight. Although seascapes are not my forte, I enjoyed the challenge.

Title or Location: My studio . Peebles Ohio 2025 .24-march
I painted this work in the grizal technique , trying to reduce the color to a minimum , in an island way working with tone and with the texture of the brushstroke , and with these techniques trying to convey the form and volume of nature . The concept of the work- is such that the color accents are placed on the eyes , and it says that all of us - all living beings see the world in colors and in color - each in their own way

Title or Location: Inverbervie Beach
This is the third painting I have done as part of Mike Samson's art classes this term focusing on a single colour. This project began as a tonal study using just black and white which I used initially to block in the picture. I was then able to build up the tones by adding shades of paynes grey and indigo. Finally I added some greens and burnt sienna to add a touch of colour. This picture is heading to Inverbervie for the annual exhibition from April 5-12.

Title or Location: Imaginary seascape photographed at home
This painting is my response to a work by Ukrainian artists . Lolita Sanamyan. We are part of a small group, five Somerset artists and seven Ukrainian, Artists in Dialogue, established a few months after the beginning of the invasion. We use a virtual platform to have a ?conversation? through art. Her painting showed a gull skimming the top of a wild wave. My response was to show my hope that her gull would soon be flying in the safety of clear blue skies.
